With a solid performances against two nationally ranked teams, Drew Gordon, a 6-9 senior from New Mexico, is the StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. Bradley Beal from Florida is the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week and C.J. Fair from Syracuse is StatSheet's NCAA 6th Man of the Week.
Gordon was tops in the NCAA in rebounding (18.5 per game). He also put up a strong 22 points per game, lifting the Lobos to wins against 13th ranked San Diego State and 11th ranked UNLV.
Gordon had 17 points and 17 rebounds in 35 minutes in a 77-67 upset win against San Diego State. He then led the team in scoring (27) and rebounding (20) in a huge 65-45 victory over UNLV.
This is the first StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week honor for Drew Gordon. The runner-up this week is Jae Crowder, a senior from Marquette. Honorable mention goes to senior Draymond Green from Michigan State. Deshaun Thomas was the highest ranking player from Ohio State, finishing 19th.
StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week: Florida's Bradley Beal
Bradley Beal played an average of 37 minutes starting both games for the Gators. In a 61-52 victory against Alabama, Beal churned out 14 points and 8 rebounds. Against Arkansas, in a 98-68 shellacking, he had 2 blocked shots and 75% shooting.
This is the second StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week award for Beal. The runner-up is Trey Burke from Michigan. Honorable mention goes to TaShawn Thomas from Houston.
StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week: Syracuse's C.J. Fair
Sophomore C.J. Fair averaged 36 minutes over two games for the Orange. In a narrow 52-51 win over Louisville, Fair led the Orange in scoring with 13 points shooting 41%. Then in a 74-64 win over Rutgers, he led all scoring and rebounding with 21 and 8.
Fair has won the StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week award an amazing 3 times. Ian Miller, a sophomore guard from Florida State, is runner-up. Derrick Nix, a junior center from Michigan State, wins honorable mention.
